Notice period for the owners' meeting in Spain

Short answer

The yearly (ordinary) owners' meeting must be called with at least six days' notice. For extraordinary meetings the notice must be given as early as is possible so that all interested owners can learn of it. A meeting can also be held validly without the president's notice if all owners attend and decide to meet.

What the law says

Original wording of the law (Spanish). The summary and the notes around it are ours.

What this means in practice

The law says "six days" without saying calendar or working days, so the text should not qualify them. The notice is made by the president and must state the matters to be dealt with and the place, day and hour of the first and second call, with the list of owners in arrears and the warning that they lose their vote. The channel is the one set in art. 9 of the same law; it does not name e-mail, post or an app. This page covers the state law; Catalonia has its own civil code with other deadlines.

General information, not legal advice. Check with a lawyer in Spain before relying on it, and read your building's own documents: they can change how a rule applies.

Where Unitify fits

Unitify sends announcements and meeting notices to residents and keeps a record of what went out and when. Whether a notice is valid, in its channel, deadline and content, depends on the law above and on your own rules. Unitify does not make a notice valid.
