Notice period for the owners' meeting in Latvia
Each apartment owner and the manager must be invited to the community's general meeting at least seven days in advance, in writing or in another way set by the community. The invitation states the place, the time, the agenda and the conditions for taking decisions.
What the law says
Last verified:
What this means in practice
The law also sets an order of channels for invitations to meetings and surveys: e-mail first, then the official electronic address, and a letter to the correspondence address only if the owner has neither, and finally the address of the apartment. Owners must give current contact data (phone, e-mail, correspondence address), in the Building Information System (BIS) or to the manager, and are deemed reachable at what they supplied.
Where Unitify fits
Unitify sends announcements and meeting notices to residents and keeps a record of what went out and when. Whether a notice is valid, in its channel, deadline and content, depends on the law above and on your own rules. Unitify does not make a notice valid.
