Keep your accounting system. Add the resident layer.
Most management companies already keep accounting, statements and books in a system they know, and many run an ERP or other management software they will not replace this year. You do not have to. Unitify can sit on top: your system stays where the books are, and Unitify adds what residents touch.
This page says what stays where, what moves between the two today and how, and where the limit is.
Short answer
Yes. Your accounting system stays your accounting system. Unitify adds the resident layer on top: requests, announcements, chat and the resident app. Data moves by file today (Excel or an export from your system) and over the open API; connecting a specific system is set up per project. There is no live two-way sync out of the box.
What stays where
Stays in your system
Accounting, statements and the books. Unitify is not an accounting ledger replacement.
Unitify takes the resident side
Requests from residents, announcements, chat, votes and the resident app, with each apartment’s payment status in view.
What we exchange today, and how
Four flows, and the way each one moves today.
Buildings, apartments, owners — into Unitify
From an Excel file or an export from your current system, or by us once you give us access. Nobody re-types balances by hand.
Opening balances — into Unitify
With the same file or export, then checked against your records so balances match before anyone relies on them.
Charges, invoices, payments — out of Unitify
As an Excel export for your accountant, or a file exchange. Not a live two-way sync.
Meter readings — into Unitify
Residents submit them in the app, or they arrive from a file, or over the API from your metering system.
Which systems we can connect, by category
Connecting your system is quick today and is set up per project: we look at which system it is and what data has to move. We do not list systems here; tell us yours.
Accounting and ERP
A system with an API or a file export. We need a description of the API or the export format, and a test building.
Meters and building hardware
Meters, controllers and cameras that expose an interface (API, SIP, ONVIF, or a Modbus or M-Bus gateway). Hardware with no interface cannot be connected; we check the exact model first.
Smart buildingAccess control
Door panels and access controllers with an integration interface, connected to the resident app under the project.
Messaging
Chatbots and messengers, through the open API.
Banks and payments
Banks and payment providers with an API. We need the API documentation and a test account.
What we need from you
Access or an export
Open your current system to us, or send exports: buildings, apartments, owners and balances.
The API or file description
If your system has an API, its documentation; if not, the file format of an export.
A test building
One building to try the connection on before the rest.
Parallel run and mirroring
Once you give us access, we move you over within one week. Or Unitify runs on top of your current system and mirrors its data, so you do not have to switch everything at once.
You share access or exports
Open your current system to us, or send exports: buildings, apartments, owners and balances.
We import and reconcile
We load everything into Unitify and check it against your records, so balances match before anyone relies on them.
A trial period alongside, or mirroring
Run Unitify next to your current system for a trial period, or keep working where you are while Unitify mirrors its data.
You switch, or stay on top
When you are ready, Unitify becomes the system you work in. If you prefer, your system stays the system of record and Unitify stays on top.
The honest limits
- No live two-way sync out of the box. Hand your accountant an Excel export or a file exchange. Integration with a specific accounting or ERP system is possible and is assessed per system: we look at which system it is and what data has to move.
- Not a connector for every system. We do not claim to work with every ERP or accounting system. A connection is project work, and we confirm it before you commit.
Working on top of your system: questions
Do we have to replace our accounting or ERP system?
No. It stays where your books are. Unitify adds the resident layer on top, and you decide later whether to move more.
Is there a live two-way sync with my system?
Not out of the box. Data moves by file today: Excel or an export from your system, and the open API. Integration with a specific accounting or ERP system is possible and is assessed per system.
What do you exchange with my system today?
Buildings, apartments, owners and opening balances come in from an Excel file or an export. Meter readings come from residents in the app, from a file or over the API. Charges, invoices and payments go out as an Excel export for your accountant.
Can you connect our specific system?
Possibly. If the system has an API or a file export, we look at which system it is and what data has to move, and set the connection up per project. We confirm it before you commit.
Can we run both side by side?
Yes: a trial period alongside, or mirroring mode, in which you keep working in your system while Unitify mirrors its data.
How long does it take?
Moving your data: once you give us access, we move you over within one week. Connecting a specific system is set up per project and starts with a test building.
