Messaging channel integration for HOA, condo and building management

A notice that nobody reads does not reach anyone. Residents live in different channels: the app, email, SMS, a messenger. The building needs to reach each one without the office writing everything four times.

This page says which channels Unitify sends through today, how a chatbot or a messenger channel connects, and what is set up per project.

Short answer

Unitify sends to residents by email, SMS, push in the app and Telegram today. Chatbots connect through the open API, and posting announcements into a Telegram channel is built per project.

What this connection is for

  • Reach every resident

One announcement, delivered through the channel each resident actually reads.

  • Requests from the channel residents use

A resident can raise a request without installing another app, for example from Telegram.

  • Staff alerts

Staff are notified about new and changed requests where they work.

What data moves, and in which direction

Each line says whether it works today or is set up for your project.

  • Works today

    Notifications: out of Unitify

Email, SMS, push in the app and Telegram messages for requests, announcements and reminders.

  • Works today

    Verification codes: out of Unitify

Where the gateways are configured, sign-in codes try Telegram, then WhatsApp, then SMS.

  • Works today

Events to your system: out of Unitify

A webhook can carry request and request-comment events to your own service. We set up the subscription.

  • Set up per project

Requests from a chatbot: into Unitify

A chatbot or a messenger bot creates requests and reads their status through the API.

  • Set up per project

Announcements into a Telegram channel: out of Unitify

Publishing a news item into a Telegram channel through a news-sharing mini-app. Built per project. WhatsApp offers no API for channels, so this is not possible there.

How a connection is set up

  • Works today

    Built-in channels

Email, SMS, push and Telegram are configured for your organization. Residents link their own Telegram account.

  • Works today

    Open API

A chatbot or messenger bot talks to Unitify through the GraphQL API. Part of the Pro plan.

    Open API and webhooks
  • Works today

    Webhooks

Request events are sent to an address we register for you.

  • Set up per project

    News-sharing mini-app

A small service receives a news item and publishes it to a Telegram channel. We build and connect it for your project.

What you provide

  • Your sending accounts

Your email sender, SMS account or messenger bot, where the channel needs one.

  • Channel access

For a messenger channel, admin rights so a bot can post to it.

  • A test group

One test channel or group to try posting before it goes to residents.

The honest limits

  • Residents link their own channels. Telegram needs the resident to link their account; Unitify cannot message a resident on a channel they did not set up.
  • Not every messenger has an open interface. A messenger without an official business API cannot be connected, and we say so.
  • Channel posting is per project. It is built from the messenger's API and tested on one channel first.

Messaging channels: questions

Which channels does Unitify send through?

Email, SMS, push in the resident app and Telegram today. Other messengers and chatbots connect through the open API, per project.

Can residents raise requests from Telegram?

Yes, through the Telegram bot for residents who will not install another app. Residents link their own account.

Can you post announcements to a Telegram channel?

Yes, as a news-sharing mini-app built per project and tested on one channel first. WhatsApp channels have no API, so we cannot post there.

Can we connect our own chatbot?

Yes, through the GraphQL API: the bot creates requests and reads their status. API access is part of the Pro plan.

Is a message sent on a channel the resident never set up?

No. Telegram needs the resident to link their account, and push needs the app.

Does a resident need the app to get a notice?

No. Email and SMS reach residents without the app; push notifications need it. Telegram reaches residents who linked their account.
