The input rarely came structured — it usually looked something like: “Entrance 3, 9 floors, 4 units per floor… last floor has 6… numbering starts from 0…” Different companies brought data in completely different formats. Someone had to interpret this and recreate the structure inside the system. It took time and didn’t scale.

Recently, we changed the approach to make the start smoother. While working on onboarding, we received files from a developer in Nairobi, Kenya — a fairly large residential complex, with spreadsheets containing building layouts, floor plans, and unit counts across multiple blocks. This time, we used AI to turn those Excel files into a structured prompt, and then generated the full building map in Unitify automatically. 15 entrances, 138 floors, 510 units — created in seconds.
